Help mee bouwen aan The Boardgame Hub

Hoi allemaal,

Ik ben Jorick en ik werk aan het opzetten van The Boardgame Hub in het midden van Nederland (nog nader te bepalen) — een toegankelijke en gezellige plek waar je bordspellen kunt spelen, anderen kunt ontmoeten, en samen even offline kunt gaan.

Het plan staat in de steigers, maar ik wil het niet alleen bouwen: ik zoek bordspelliefhebbers die willen meedenken, testen, of op een andere manier mee willen doen aan deze community-in-wording.

Stel je voor: zoveel dagen als mogelijk in de week, een ruimte open van 15:00 tot 23:00, tiental tafels, een bonen-koffieautomaat, duurzame snacks en drankjes, en honderden spellen om uit te kiezen. Geen verkoopdruk, wel een ontspannen sfeer. Denk aan tafelhuur of een (maand)abonnement zodat het voor iedereen toegankelijk blijft.

Maar het belangrijkste: dit moet een plek van en vóór spelers worden. Alleen lukt dat niet.

Daarom nodig ik je uit om nu al mee te doen:

Of je nu casual speler bent, fanatiek, alleenstaand, met gezin of student — jouw input is welkom.

Maar eerst wil ik weten:

Wat mis jij in bestaande clubs, cafés of spellenwinkels? Wat zou jouw ideale speellocatie zijn? Heb jij expertise die nuttig kan zijn (horeca, inrichting, boekhouding, connecties)? Zie je een potentiële locatie rondon het midden Nederland?

Laat van je horen, denk mee, of kom straks proefspelen.
Samen maken we er iets moois van.

Hi everyone,

My name is Jorick and I am working on setting up The Boardgame Hub in the middle of the Netherlands (yet to be determined) — an accessible and cozy place where you can play board games, meet others, and go offline together.

The plan is in works, but I don't want to build it alone: I am looking for board game enthusiasts who want to think along, test, or otherwise participate in this community-in-the-making.

Imagine: as many days as possible, a space open from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, ten+ tables, a bean-to-cup coffee machine, sustainable snacks and drinks, and hundreds of games to choose from.
No sales pressure, but a relaxed atmosphere. Think of table rental or a (monthly) subscription so that it remains accessible to everyone.

But most importantly: this has to become a place by and for players. That won't work alone.
